For those of us who haven't seen The Toasters live before, this CD is a must. It's not a best of as such, but it does give you something of everything. Even if you had every Toasters album you could still buy this CD. The lyrics are often changed to suit the occasion and the in between song banter is excellent. The West Ham reference will please supporters of other teams, but really it just makes you jealous you couldn't be there. "Talk is Cheap" is my favourite song, you'd have to be without legs not to get up and dance to it. Other favourites include "I wasn't going to call you anyway", "Mona" and the James Brown classic "Gimme Some Lovin". Really if you call yourself a ska fan in present times you would have at least heard of The Toasters, maybe even have a love for their music as I do. This album even features the great Dr. Ring Ding, which to me is enough to buy this CD. |
