Beer and Bollocks 1 - a weekly wrap-up

This will be a regular rant about not much at all, pretty much copying the pages of the Sydney Social Club pages.

25/07/2001 - Well I'm sitting here watching The Late Show and have come to the conclusion David Letterman is a deadset wanker, he has no idea about anything outside the US. He just spent his whole interview with Ewan McGregor asking him about Polar bears and how to make scotch whiskey. Give me Michael Parkinson anyday.

I went to see Strung Out on Sunday. It was the worst gig I've ever been to. Them and the three supporting bands - Sommerset, Crank and Secondbest played sets thats all sounded the same. When I go to gigs like this it makes my love for ska, reggae and even Oi! increase even more. If I was a Strung Out fan I'd have been pissed off - they only played for 35 minutes, but hey it doesn't bother me.

For anyone who cares I got my first Italian scooter recently. I've finally got the knack of it - it starts all the time, just gotta fix the speedo cable. I don't have a name for it yet - any suggestions should be added to the guestbook.

Movie/s of the week
Pardners - starring Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis
If you aren't fans of this odd couple you'll be bored to death, but Dean Martin is one of my favourite singers and the two combine like no others.

Peculiarlarities of National Fishing
A Russian film I saw on SBS, in which a group of different people come together to go fishing. Vodka, mermaids and Russian military corruption make for a good laugh, the best Russian movie I've seen I'd have to say.

Link of the Week
Hi Havoc - site that promotes Sydney ska and punk. Includes information on bands, venues etc and has an alright forum. Has the added advantage that i disagree with a lot that is said.

Album in the CD player
Cherry Poppin' Daddies - Soul Caddy
I don't like this album really, but am listening to it for a change.

Gig I'm going to
The World on Welfare CD launch with Wollongong bands Thought Crime and Run for Cover supporting @ Greensquare Hotel on Friday night

okay that's the first Beer and Bollocks, TV at 2am is not all that good really.
